People usually go looking for a Noisli alternative for one of four plain reasons: the free plan’s 16 sounds run out, the 1.5 hours of daily streaming stops mid-afternoon, they want sounds or controls Noisli does not have, or they would rather pay once than monthly.
Slo keeps the part of Noisli people like, which is picking sounds and setting a volume on each: 200+ sounds in the app, 89 free for good, and a timer that reaches 24 hours. At slonoise.com, 180 of those sounds run in a browser with no account and no daily cap. White Noise by TMSOFT adds recording, alarms and wide device support; Dark Noise is the Apple-native choice; BetterSleep wraps the mixer in a bigger sleep toolkit; Brain.fm swaps nature sounds for music written for work; and Endel generates the soundscape so you never build one.
Noisli’s current web Pro plan lists 28 mixable sounds, unlimited streaming, Playlists, Favorites, an advanced Timer, a Markdown editor, Oscillation and Shuffle. Its Free plan has 16 sounds and 1.5 hours of daily streaming. It has an iOS app, and it notes that the complete web feature set is designed for modern desktop browsers. Its apps page still links to Android, but that Google Play listing returned “not found” when we checked on 30 September 2026.
So on an Android phone, a missing app is now a real reason to switch. The other reasons are the free plan’s daily cap, and wanting something Noisli was never built to do: a bigger library, a Mac menu bar you can reach without a tab, your own recordings and an alarm, bedtime stories, or music written for work in place of rain and fans.
Noisli itself is still a good fit for one job. If you write in a browser, want a short list of sounds you can balance in a few seconds, and value the timer and the Markdown pane beside them, staying put is a reasonable answer to this page.
We read each company’s official feature, pricing and apps pages and its US store listing on July 31, 2026. We did not install the other five and live with them, so everything here about them is what they publish about themselves. Slo is our own app; its figures come from the app source, version 3.132, and the slonoise.com catalogue on September 14, 2026. No sound app can guarantee better focus or better sleep.
| Alternative | Best for | Audio approach | Verified platforms | How it differs from Noisli |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Slo | A layered mix that runs all night | Manual layer volumes, any number of layers, saved mixes | iOS, Android, Mac; browser tools | 200+ sounds with 89 free, a timer to 24 hours with fade-out, offline play after download |
| White Noise by TMSOFT | Noise-machine controls | Mix Pad, recordings, playlists | iPhone/iPad, Android, Mac, Windows and more | Adds alarms, local stock playback and recording |
| Dark Noise | Apple shortcuts and widgets | Sounds and custom mixes | iPhone, iPad, Mac | Deeper Apple system controls |
| BetterSleep | A broader bedtime toolkit | Large mixer plus guided content | iOS, Android | Adds stories, meditations and tracking |
| Brain.fm | Focus music | Purpose-built functional music | Web, iOS, Android, desktop | Not an ambient layer mixer |
| Endel | Low-decision adaptive sound | Real-time generated soundscapes | iOS, Android, Mac, web and more | Adapts rather than asking you to build a mix |
The interaction is the one that pulled you into Noisli in the first place. You pick ambient sounds, set how loud each one sits, and leave it alone. The app holds 200+ recorded sounds, 89 of them free for good: 11 rain tracks, 5 fan tracks, and 22 noise recordings across brown, pink, white, grey, green, blue and violet. You can stack as many layers as you want, each with its own volume, and a saved mix keeps its balance.
Nothing stops after 90 minutes. The timer runs from 15 minutes to 24 hours with a fade-out of up to 2 minutes, playback carries on in the background on iPhone and Android, and every sound downloads the first time you press play, so a saved mix still works on a plane. The rest of the library needs a subscription, monthly or yearly, or a single lifetime payment. In a browser, the 180 sounds at slonoise.com need no account.
Choose it if: You want an ordinary mixer that runs a work block or a whole night without a daily limit.
Skip it if: You came to Noisli for the writing pane or the work-session numbers. Slo has no editor, no stories, no sleep tracking and no alarms, and it will not adapt to anything.
TMSOFT lists 50 bundled sounds, Mix Pad, timers and alarms, recording, playlists, local stock playback and White Noise Market access. The product family spans mobile, desktop, watches and TV devices.
Choose it if: You want to record your own loops, keep sounds on the device, or wake up to one.
Skip it if: What you liked was a plain browser tab with a few sounds in it.
Dark Noise documents 50 sounds, custom mixes, widgets, keyboard shortcuts, a mini player and menu-bar support on Mac. Its mix editor gives each sound its own volume.
Choose it if: You work on Apple hardware and want the sound two keystrokes away.
Skip it if: Someone in the house needs it on an Android phone.
BetterSleep documents a mixer with more than 500 sounds and melodies, plus stories, meditations, timers, reminders, tracking and a sleep recorder. Its mobile apps run on iOS and Android.
Choose it if: Sound is one part of a bedtime routine you want in one app.
Skip it if: The small work-shaped screen was the whole appeal of Noisli.
Brain.fm offers task-oriented music modes, intensity controls and timers across web, iOS, Android and desktop. It is not a sound mixer at all, so treat it as a different answer to the same evening, not a swap.
Choose it if: You opened Noisli to concentrate and you get on better with music than with hiss.
Skip it if: You want rain, fans and noise colors you can combine yourself.
Endel generates soundscapes that can respond to time, weather, light, movement or heart rate, depending on device and permissions. Its official platform list includes iOS, Android, Mac, web and several other devices.
Choose it if: Choosing and balancing sounds feels like one more chore at the end of the day.
Skip it if: You want the same mix back tomorrow, exactly as you left it.
Noisli-style presets
Try two ready-made combinations and change one layer at a time. The useful mix is the one you stop noticing.
A steady rumble, a wide ambient sound, and typing quiet enough that you barely catch it.
Running water with a steady hiss underneath, for a desk where the room keeps interrupting you.
Not one you can install today, as far as we can tell. Noisli’s apps page still links to Android, but the Google Play listing it points to returned “not found” when we checked on 30 September 2026. Noisli still has an iOS app, a web app and a Chrome extension.
Its current Free web plan includes 16 sounds and 1.5 hours of streaming per day. Pro raises the sound count to 28 and removes the daily streaming limit. Check current mobile terms in the relevant store.
Slo is closest in basic mixer interaction: 200+ sounds with 89 free, any number of layers with a volume on each, and a timer from 15 minutes to 24 hours. TMSOFT is closer to a full noise machine; Dark Noise emphasizes Apple controls; Brain.fm and Endel use different audio models.
White Noise by TMSOFT, BetterSleep, Brain.fm, Endel and Slo all have Android apps. Dark Noise is Apple only. Noisli’s Android app is no longer on Google Play, so if you want sound on an Android phone, that is a real reason to look at one of these.
The 180 sounds at slonoise.com run in a browser with no account and no daily cap, and the apps keep 89 sounds free for good. Noisli’s own free web plan gives you 16 sounds and 1.5 hours a day, which is enough to try it and not enough to work through an afternoon.
