Rain on Window is rain heard from inside. The fine spray at the top of open rain is gone, held back by the glass, and what reaches you is a softer patter with a clear drop strike about every two seconds. It is close and almost entirely mono: the rain sits in front of you rather than around you. Of the four rain recordings added here, this is the one that sounds like a room.

What glass does to rain
A pane blocks high frequencies hardest, so the airy top of the rain never gets through. That single fact is most of the character, and it is why the file reads as indoors with your eyes shut. Nothing rumbles behind it either: no thunder, no wind, no weather beyond the window.
Individual drops stand further out from the background here than in any other rain in this set, roughly one clear strike every two seconds over a continuous wash. Slow enough to feel unhurried, frequent enough that the 32-second loop never goes flat.
Mono, and what that costs
Both channels carry nearly the same signal, so on headphones the rain sits centred between your ears rather than spread across a pane. For background listening that is usually an advantage, though it is not the file to pick if you want weather all around you. The wide ones in this set are the grass and tent recordings, and the library index lists them alongside Rain and Gentle Rain.
Most of what is here sits in the same range as speech consonants and keyboard clicks, which is what it covers well. It does little about a bass line through a wall. Add brown noise underneath in the mixer when the problem is low rather than high.
