What the loop actually contains

The pitch content is unusually plain: A1 at 55 Hz, A2 at 110 Hz, A3 at 220 Hz and an E3 at 163 Hz, with faint traces further up. No thirds, no chord, just octaves and a fifth, which is why it reads as a single sustained note rather than harmony. A broadband layer sits above it: the 4 to 8 kHz band measures around 27 decibels down, where the comparable pads here reach 40 or more. That soft wash is what makes it feel less airless than a pure drone.

A note on the name, and what to pair it with

This page describes a recording. It does not claim the track produces a mental state, and nothing on this site supports that. What is true is narrower and more useful: it is unchanging, wordless, has no rhythm, and holds one pitch class throughout, so there is very little in it to attract attention.
